leontien van moorsel
Leontien van Moorsel began her career at an early age, and it soon became clear that hers was an exceptional talent. She is a straightforward and spontaneous girl from the province of Brabant, full of energy and stamina.
These characteristics resulted in a glittering career packed with major triumphs, deep lows and some of the greatest moments in Dutch sporting history.
She was an Olympic champion four times, world champion nine times, won the Tour de France twice, was champion of the Netherlands 39 times and holder of the world 1 hour record.
In short, probably the greatest woman athlete the Netherlands will ever see.
Leontien gave birth to her daughter Indy on 7 July 2007.
GMG is proud to align itself with such a fantastic and contemporary figurehead.
Now that she has brought her career on the cycle track to an end, Leontien's activities include supporting cycle racing as well as the annual Leontiens Ladies Ride, which has now grown into a sporting phenomenon where ladies can now tour with their little treasures in safe and comfortable child seats.
